What We Believe
-
The Bible is the only sufficient guide for the Church and for the Christian in their life.
-
That God is one, yet eternally exists in three persons and is the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe.
-
Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, Son of the Living God and Savior of the world.
-
The Holy Spirit works for our conversion, guarantees our salvation, and renews us by giving us strength for living and power in prayer.
-
Men and women were created in God’s image to care for creation and further God’s kingdom on the earth. However, humanity was tempted by Satan to define right and wrong in our own eyes rather than God’s. In doing this we set up our own rival kingdoms against his. This disconnected us from God in a way that we cannot repair on our own.
-
Salvation is God restoring what we have broken through the death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. It is only by the grace of God that this is done, not by any works of righteousness on our part.
-
One is a Christian when they commit themselves to the Lordship of Christ and have been united with Him in Baptism.
-
Baptism is by immersion and it is a pledge of loyalty to the one true triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
-
People are saved through Christ, not by being a member of this Church. Membership is about service in God’s kingdom, not salvation.
-
The Lord’s Supper (Communion) is observed weekly to remember and celebrate the sacrifice Jesus made for us.
